Accessories
A simple black dress. A perfect canvas for you to add your personality via accessories.
Belts.
Get them in a colour and also a print. By adding them to a simple black dress it highlights your waist and also adds colour. Show your personality through your accessories. Note with belts to be careful with the width of the belt, if you put a wide belt around your waist you are going to lose your natural indentation of your waist and appear to “lose your waist”. You want the accessories to compliment your outfit not detract from it.
Shoes.
A black shoe is classy but why not try something different and finish off the look with a print or coloured shoe making it an accessory not just a requirement. If you are going to buy a coloured shoe, pick a colour that you don’t have in a skirt or a dress so it can be the point of difference, and not blend in with the rest of your outfit. A neutral colour shoe ie a tan is also a great staple to have in any wardrobe and is a perfect option of shoe that goes with any colour. A black shoe stands back from your outfit but a coloured or print shoe becomes a highlight, an accessory to the outfit.
Blazers.
A blazer or structured jacket in a colour or a print would then complete this look perfectly. Black is classy colour but delve out into new colours and prints to show you are confident in your dressing and you know exactly what is your own personal style. Buy blazers in your best dark colour and light colour first. Then start adding your favourite colours into your wardrobe and prints to add another dimension of interest to your outfits. Again the blazer is not just added for warmth but as an accessory for your outfit.
